Bastiaan joined AELS in August 2013 as an intern for his graduation project from Aviation studies at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. His assignment was to research the opportunities of repair management for the Boeing 737 classic stock of AELS. When he finished his thesis in March 2014 he officially joined AELS as the Repair Manager.
Bastiaan is responsible for all repairs of AELS’s stock, taking into account marketability of the parts, repair costs, potential market value, customer relations with repair stations and keeping track of the total investment per project.
“What I like about working for AELS is the international aspect of aviation, having contacts all over Europe and the US”.
Bastiaan’s most memorable aviation moment was actually his first flight, a tour in a Cessna 172 around the Island of Samsø in Denmark, where his grandparents lived.
