The 6R Green Aviation International Conference will take place in Paris Le Bourget 6-7 November, 2014. The conference adopts the ideas of a circular economy to promote the goal of a truly sustainable aviation industry.
In 2006, Prof. I.S. Jawahir from University of Kentucky defined a new paradigm (6R) for sustainable manufacturing. Moving from the traditional 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to add a further 3Rs – Recover, Redesign and Remanufacture, to embrace the entire (full) like-cycle of a product.
Derk-Jan van Heerden, AELS General Manager, will chair two conference sessions about post-use. These sessions will be held on Friday November 7Th. Some of the topics which will be presented are Global Airline View on Aircraft Decommissioning, Total Scrap Management and Maximum Recycling in Aviation Industry.
