Boeing 747-200 in Luxembourg

In June 2014 AELS completed the dismantling of a Boeing 747-200 MSN 22254. The project was requested by Luxembourg Findel Airport authorities.

The freighter was first delivered in December 1979 to El-Al Israeli Airlines under 4X-AXH registration. In 2006 the aircraft changed hands and was operated by Tesis Aviation Enterprise from Russia as VP-BXC. In October 2008 the aircraft ceased to operate and was parked permanently at Luxembourg Airport.

The dismantling of a wide-body aircraft on a busy airport such as Luxembourg required detailed planning and efficient execution. The safety of both man and operating aircraft were extremely important.
