The AELS story

What happens when an aircraft is no longer flying? Derk-Jan van Heerden, an aerospace engineering student, was determined to find out. In 2005, he wrote his Master’s thesis on this subject at the Technical University of Delft.

After his graduation, Derk-Jan worked for a short time with KLM Engineering and Maintenance where he managed the disassembly of a Boeing 747. In 2006, he started AELS which is short for Aircraft End-of-Life Solutions.

In our history, AELS has disassembled and dismantled over 75 aircrafts. Today, we are active in the circular economy recycling many aircraft parts. Partnering with companies such as KLM, Lufthansa, TNT and Iberia. From finding the right part to delivery, our sales and logistics team ensures every client has a pleasant experience.
